All Hallows’ Eve: Saturday, October 25, 2014 – 7:00 pm CT. Storyteller Susan Fowler will hold a lantern-lit reading of Washington Irving’s classic ghost story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, in the historic Santa Claus Church. Beware the Headless Horseman! He’ll be making a visit at the end of the story.

Join us for a spooky haunted tour of the Santa Claus Museum & Village. Guided tours will begin at the Original Santa Claus Post Office, creep past the giant Santa Claus Statue and wrap-up with a ghostly tour of the historic Santa Claus Church. Tickets can be purchased in advance, or on-site during the event. Soup, desserts and drinks will also be available for purchase. This event is sponsored in partnership with Team H-A-P-P-Y of Relay for Life.

Stop by the Original Santa Claus Post Office and write that letter to Santa! Santa’s Elves and the Jolly ole’ Elf himself will be available to help with those letters. Chief Elf Pat Koch and Greg Martin, descendant of our town’s famous Postmaster, James Martin, will also be on-hand to sign books. The first 25 people will receive a limited edition, commemorative pin featuring James Martin or Santa Jim Yellig.

The Story of Santa Claus: Saturday, December 20, 2014 - 11:00 am CST
Storyteller Susan Fowler brings Clemont C. Moore’s classic poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas, to life in an interactive performance for the whole family. Christmas carols, storytelling, music and more accompany Fowler’s presentation, which also includes the surprising story of how the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, received its name.
Admission is free, though donations are appreciated.
