Christmas Kick-Off – 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm CST
Stop by the Original Santa Claus Post Office and postmark those cards and letters to Santa! The special Christmas postmark for the 2014 holiday season will be available on-site for visitors to hand-cancel their own Christmas cards. This unique opportunity is the only time the postmark will be available outside of regular business hours. Santa’s Elves and the Jolly ole’ Elf himself will also available to help kids with those letters and send in their Christmas wish lists. Chief Elf Pat Koch and Greg Martin, descendant of our town’s 14th Postmaster, James Martin, will be on-hand to sign copies of the Santa Claus history book, a recent addition to Arcadia’s Images of America series. The first 25 people to stop by the Original Santa Claus Post Office will receive a limited edition, commemorative pin featuring James Martin or Santa Jim Yellig.

The Story of Santa Claus: Saturday, December 20, 2014 - 11:00 am CST
Storyteller Susan Fowler brings Clemont C. Moore’s classic poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas, to life in an interactive performance for the whole family. Christmas carols, storytelling, music and more accompany Fowler’s presentation, which also includes the surprising story of how the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, received its name.
Admission is free, though donations are appreciated.
